📦 Unboxing & First Impressions

When the teasers of the Z fold 7 were out, I said, “Wow, this looks super slim and amazing.” But when I actually held it in my hand — I was pleasantly surprised! Samsung for coming out with the Z Fold 7 this slim. Other brands tried thin foldables, and I think Samsung said, “Challenge accepted!” — and nailed it.

Honestly, when you hold it, it doesn’t even feel like a foldable phone. It feels like a candy bar phone, and not even a heavy one. That’s what the Z fold 7 feels like. Let’s get started.

The box is absolutely flat — and so is the phone! First thing inside the box is the phone, then you get a SIM ejector tool, a Type-C to Type-C charging cable, and documentation. That’s it. Minimal, clean, and focused on the essentials — Samsung has kept it simple and premium.

🙌 In-Hand Feel – The Slimmest Fold Yet

Samsung has done an amazing job here. Just listen to the satisfying click of the fold. I use the S25 Ultra daily — this feels lighter than that! The Z Fold 7 weighs around 217g, which is less than the S25 Ultra (228g). That’s crazy for a foldable.

This is the thinnest Fold yet. Z Fold 1 was 17.1mm thick, Z Fold 6 became 12.1mm, and now the Z Fold 7 is just 8.99mm — almost 50% thinner than the first generation. The amount of engineering it took to reduce the thickness while maintaining durability is nothing short of impressive.

In the hand, it’s extremely comfortable. Whether you have small or big hands, this phone feels perfectly balanced. It doesn’t feel fragile like some early foldables used to. In fact, it gives you confidence when using it folded or unfolded.

📸 Camera System – Flagship-Level Performance

The primary sensor is 200MP, ultra-wide is 12MP, and 3x telephoto is 10MP. Both cover and inner displays have 10MP selfie cameras. This is a big upgrade over Z Fold 6.

Portrait shots with the 3x telephoto come out sharp and detailed. Even 2x shots using the 200MP main sensor look close to optical quality. Samsung’s image processing has also improved — colors look natural and crisp.

In different lighting conditions, from New York streets to indoor rooms, it delivered consistent and high-quality results. If you’re a camera enthusiast, this foldable won’t disappoint.

🎥 Videography – 4K 60fps + Galaxy AI Magic

All sensors can shoot 4K 60fps, and you even get 10-bit HDR and Galaxy Log video support for pro-level shooting. Low-light videos are improved thanks to the new Pro Visual Engine.

Galaxy AI also enhances the post-production part — you can edit footage directly on the large screen with full multitasking tools. For vloggers and creators, this phone becomes a complete studio in your pocket.

🤖 Software Features – Galaxy AI, Photo Assist, Multitasking & More

The new Photo Assist helps you edit better, multitasking is insane — thanks to the taskbar. You can use two apps together, drag-drop images, edit full photos — it’s a productivity beast.

Lock screen customization is deeper than before. Widgets are now interactive, wallpapers are more dynamic, and you get AI-powered suggestions for better personalization. Also, on-device AI lets you do things like writing help, summarizing content, and even smart editing — all while keeping your data private.

📱 Display – Bright, Smooth & Stunning

The cover screen is now 6.5” with 21:9 aspect ratio (LTPO 120Hz), and the inner screen is 8” LTPO 120Hz as well. Both have 2600 nits peak brightness and work great in outdoor sunlight.

The outer screen is now usable for most tasks — from typing to watching videos. Previously, the narrow screen made typing difficult, but now it feels just like a regular phone.

When unfolded, the 8-inch screen is like a tablet. Great for watching movies, editing photos, browsing, and even gaming. With high brightness and color accuracy, both displays are a treat to use.

⚙️ Performance – Beast Mode Activated

Powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, with 12/256GB, 12/512GB, and 16GB/1TB variants. RAM is LPDDR5X, storage is UFS 4.0. Runs OneUI 8 based on Android 16 out of the box.

Apps open instantly, multitasking is smooth, and the UI is fluid. In over 3–4 days of testing, we didn’t experience any bugs, stutters, or crashes. This is how flagship performance should feel.

🔋 Battery – Can It Last All Day?

Battery is 4400mAh, 25W wired, 15W wireless, 4.5W reverse wireless. Samsung claims 24hr backup. In our usage, we got 5.5–6 hours SOT even with mixed use.

Even though the battery isn’t huge, thanks to OneUI optimizations and LTPO display, the phone easily lasts a full day for most users. If you use the cover screen more often, battery life improves even more.

🔐 Security – Samsung Knox + On-Device AI

Enhanced Knox protection keeps your personal data secure. It creates an isolated sandbox for sensitive apps like WhatsApp so no third-party app can access your messages or media. You can also choose to process AI tasks on-device for privacy.

No subscription is required for Galaxy AI right now. Samsung confirmed that there won’t be any charges for the next couple of years. That’s a big relief.

🎧 Multimedia – Bright, Loud, and Crisp

HDR content on Netflix, Prime, YouTube looks amazing. Haptics are also great. Even with the thin build, audio quality is solid. Multimedia lovers will enjoy this.

The aspect ratio allows for comfortable viewing, whether folded or unfolded. Stereo speakers are clear, loud, and well-balanced. Overall, it’s a great multimedia machine.

📶 Connectivity – Nothing Left Out

You get Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, USB 3.2 Gen 1, dual eSIM support, all 5G bands, UWB, NFC — literally everything. No FM radio or IR blaster. IP48 water & dust resistance. No S-Pen support.

The USB-C port is now so slim, it feels like edge-to-edge with the frame — impressive engineering. The fingerprint sensor is side-mounted and works quickly and reliably.

🛠️ Repairability & After Sales – Much Better Now

Samsung has made repair and service easier with this generation. Getting parts or fixing issues won’t be a hassle. The new design is more modular and less complicated to disassemble.

📊 Benchmarks – Best Scores Yet

AnTuTu score is 2.2 million+, Geekbench multi core is 10,000+. This phone is blazing fast, both in real use and benchmarks.

💰 Price, Offers & Final Thoughts

Price is ₹1,74,999. But pre-orders before July 12/13 get ₹12,000 worth of upgrades, like bumping 12/256 to 12/512. Also, 24-month No Cost EMI is available.
